I’m so glad that I could keep my promise and celebrate my first Fathers Day smoke free! If my little girl could talk I’m sure she would thank me! It’s such a relief knowing that I will be around a lot longer because I’m not putting that awful stuff into my body. I’ll admit over the last few years I’ve almost broken down but I know I can always call and talk to my quit coach whenever I get the cravings. Thank you Oklahoma Tobacco Hotline!! My wife and daughter thank you too!
Cursed candy!!!
Posted on May 31, 2012 by JakeDaniels.
My earliest memories of smoking take me back to childhood living in Warr Acres. Where I’d ride my bike to the IGA grocery store that used to be on the corner of 63rd and Macarthur. My treks to the store usually resulted in money spent on Asteroids and some candy cigarettes. All the cool kids were eating candy cigarettes lol! But seriously as harmless as they seemed, they were a precursor that led to a decades long bad habit. It all comes full circle after one of “Keith’s” recent birthday parties. A party favors bag yeilded some “candy sticks” as shown here. How I enjoyed those candy sticks! Now I can enjoy them without the negative connotation of what they became to me! 1-800-QUIT-NOW If you are ready to lay down the girts my friends….
Love Not Being Part Of The Smokers Crew!
Posted on May 30, 2012 by Drew.
I was at a wedding over the weekend and kept seeing people having to leave to sneak in a smoke. It made me very happy to not be part of that group anymore. While we are all inside in the air conditioning hanging out and having fun they kept having to go stand outside and stand alone in the heat.
Do what I did and join the non-smoking group! Call 1-800-Quit-Now and let the amazing quit coaches help you out. If I can do it anyone can! Or go online to www.okhelpline.com.

This little guy was one the reasons and motivations for his daddy (Me, Jake Daniels) to put down the tobacco for good. There are thousands of reasons to quit tobacco. Not a single one is “bad”. Life changes for the better when you quit. I owe a debt of gratitude to the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline. I really did call the 800-QUIT-NOW number and participated in the FREE program. I was successful and have been beating tobacco for 13 months now!
I FORGOT

Into my second week of the no smoking thing and you know what’s REALLY COOL??? I had a scheduled call with my quit coach on Monday and I forgot about it. Missed it. Feel bad about not being near the phone to get it wasting someone’s time. I know that REALLY gets to me. Don’t waste my time…. But all that said, I feel good about being forgetful because all this stuff ties together, by now NOT thinking about smoking all the time, I haven’t been thinking of the things associated with it! Believe me it has been tough but with the help of the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline I’m getting through it. 1 800 QUIT NOW or www.okhelpline.com

Here’s a little story for ya…. As a teenager I had this girlfriend, crazy about her…. You know how it goes, life moves on, me to different parts of the country, her to a different continent. You think you’ll never have contact with this person again. After a couple of decades we DO actually communicate! She now lives in Missouri of all places five hours away. Wow! She and her husband come to my house to celebrate my 50th birthday. Great times! She has two younger twin brothers. As kids they were always around and we did kid stuff, rode dirt bikes, football etc…. We smoked in their parent’s basement. Got an e-mail from my old girlfreind this morning informing me that her little brother died last night in some not so nice nursing home and in a lot of pain. She and her family are glad it’s over for his sake. My childhood buddy Jeff died of lung cancer last night. He was 49. 1 800 QUIT NOW
No smoking Day 3 The Finances
Posted on May 16, 2012 by LeoCage.
So, if you’ved heard me talking about my journey to become a non-smoker you know it’s been going good on a couple of different levels…. The cravings are not as bad as I had anticipated, my cough is almost non existant, my lung capacity has greatly improved already, sense of smell is coming back. I did however want to share with you the financial aspect of not buying cigarrettes every day…. at about $5.25 or so a pack for a two pack a day guy like me that’s THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN DOLLARS A MONTH. That’s alot of cash to spend slowly killing yourself…. and I’ve been taking hit after hit in the money department for about the last six months or so, honestly I don’t know if what I got coming in will cover what needs to go out anymore so and extra $315.00 bucks a month is gonna go a long way…. Wanna quit smoking and not give your money to someone who doesn’t care if you live or die? Call 1 800 QUIT NOW or go on-line to okhelpline.com The Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline can and will help you quit.
Now I gotta rock this town.
Later!
